Hi all,
I seem to be getting a lot of visitors to my site from India and that part of the world, but it seems most of them can't pay by paypal or card - does anyone know of a good alternative I can use with them?

Thanks.

Billdesk it is. Deals with all the major brands here in India.

Are you sure billdesk is a trusted one, i have not heard them before though

You can accept Western union, Wire Transfer, those are 2 secure payment method. Or Check some Bank to Bank services like Payza, but payza CANNOT PROCESS credit cards they are blocked for life they are a dumb company.

Billdesk is used by most indian banks and top "online recharge" providers and i am sure you trust the indian banks :p
btw you can try thes alternatives also if you don't like billdesk for some reason.
Worldpay.com
Paytm.com
2Co.com

I've used all these myself and worked without any problem.

Billdesk and ccavenue are good payment gateways. If you can somehow get an Indian bank account ( such as ICICI or Axis) they provide payment gateways on request. You will most probably need someone from India partnering you / doing the stuffs for you.

You can try ebs we used it for one of our shopping cart. accpet all kind of banking cards

Thanks guys. I don't really fancy Western Union, don't know why but it's always felt a bit scammy to me if someone wants paying by it (plus it's not huge in the UK, not where I am anyway).

Worldpay could be a good option - is it common to have problems when you combine Paypal, credit cards and India?

my preference
1.Bill desk
2.CCavenue
3.EBS

there are other gateways by respective banks like ICICI and HDFC but plenty of hazzles so if you wanna try try in the preference, you cannot go wrong with that!

frankly speaking, your preference should be popular+friendly+hazzle free+value for money so go for BillDesk or CCavenue!

Cheers!

Nobody in their right mind these days are going to send money like that through Western Union. They should be able to use PayPal
because it is allowed in India it is just restricted.

/\/\/\ This.
I can't imagine how much damage you'd do to the credibility of your site by asking people to pay by WU. Isn't it reserved for rich Nigerian princes and government officials?

directpay
ebs

both these ways are useful for easiest and secure way for payment process.

Zaakpay, ccavenue, billdesk, ebs, flipkart's payment gateway (payzippy), payseal (from ICICI), etc. There's a bunch of options. :-)

+1 for Direcpay. They provides cost effective and secure transaction. Also, they accept all credit cards, debit cards, net banking and mobile payments.
