payment processor asks for legal name?

Hello,
I am about to launch a membership site and I need a payment processor. All the payment processors I came across asks for legal business name, company registration number, etc..

I don't want to use paypal for this. Do I really need to have a registered company to use credit card processing?! What other choices do I have? The website is adult I guess, but contains no pornography. Any suggestions?
