Hello, I recently launched my own taxi app in a European country, and it quickly gained a significant number of downloads and is performing well. However, when I integrated Stripe as the payment gateway, my Stripe account got suspended. I had tried this three times before, which resulted in a total of $300 being refunded to customers.

My app is based on a physical business model and is essentially a taxi service similar to Uber. It currently has 30,000 downloads and 250 active drivers. For now, drivers communicate either through WhatsApp or in-app live support. I collect payments from drivers via Wise by invoicing them and taking a 20% commission. Passengers, since there is no payment system in place yet, pay drivers in cash at the end of each ride.

The app also includes an optional subscription system and a balance system. After each trip, a 20% commission is automatically deducted from the driver’s balance. Once a driver’s balance runs out, they cannot accept new trip requests.

I do not have a company registered in Europe; I only have an LLC in the United States. At this point, I am not sure what steps I should take. Could you please guide me?

Stripe blocks taxi apps without local registration. You’ll need a company in the country to use gateways like Adyen, Mollie, Viva Wallet. Otherwise go with high-risk processors (higher fees). Wise is fine for driver payouts but not for passengers.

Want me to list EU gateways that allow ride-hailing?

Yes, sir, I appreciate it.

High risk processors have higher fees, but may be needed without local business registration
