Paying for Web Directory Links

Hey guys, I know google killed off web directories but I found a couple web directories with sub directories/categories in my niche that have a PR5 and a PR3 with only maybe a max of 5 sites in each of them. Should I go ahead and buy them? One is $25 and the others range between $40-$70 bucks each.

nothing wrong with directories- i am using them all the time as a part of link building and never had any problem

For the same amount of money you can have a quality guest post which is much better deal.

waste of money and those are exactly the kinda links that google has been killing sites and giving unnatural link warnings for getting.

Claiming that Google has "killed off directories" is a myth. What Google has killed off are link farms and spam fields, not web directories.

And for the OP I can't say for sure that the directories you have found are any good, unless if one checks out the sites properly. Do PM me the list of directories you have found.

how can few links from quality directories could kill his website? i use thousands free directories with no harm. just remember that submitted doesnt equal indexed

Good question. My suggestion is for you to not to go for PR just see the authority of that sites. Many free directory sites have good domain authority and giving powerful. Don't waste your money fro PR. You can get high quality one way links and guest posts in these bucks. Hope it helps.

myth or not google did target directories specifically in an unnatural link rollout. I know because google referenced only directory links in one site that received a penalty.

but keep slinging those web directory links on fiverr mate

Its good for diversity..if directory is well maintained..then go for it..couple of strong niche specific directory listing willdef help

Good niche and local directories are still good as long as they are unique and well established. Usually, those are difficult to get into and they are expensive.

Bad directories are those that have 20 or 30 copies of same content and entries - possibly hosted on same IP with same script and are backlinked to from blogrolls of submitters.

Just my 2 Cents.
