Paying domains with bitcoins

What's the purpose of buying domains with bitcoins for anonymous reasons? I mean, you still have to input your real data for the whois or you risk yourself of losing the domain.

Anyone knows any virtual addresses that can be rented anonymously and paid via bitcoins for this purpose?

I don't think anyone really buys a domain with bitcoin for anonymous reasons, as that's just silly. Bitcoin may just be the most viable option to pay with and so registrars offer it as a payment method.

Some may use a false name, use a friends name to buy the domain, but that's a different story in itself.
