Hi, I basically need to find out how to make any video show the "codec error" when playing, but still play the audio. Does anyone know how to do this? Will pay $10 for help. Thanks

use vlc to play it
www.videolan.org
if it doesnt play in that then its just BROKEN

just make the video itself show a codec error as the video & let the audio play.

That is actually not a bad idea, but I really need the actual status error. Any one knowledgeable on codecs?
