Pay Per Install Help

I don't know if this question is ok to be posted here. I want some ideas on installing my software through pay per install scheme.. I don't have much idea about it. Can anyone here tell me how does ppi program work and what would be the costing for this program(for advertiser)? Is it possible to geo target like ppc or cpm?
