Pay Per Click Summit (anyone ever attended?)

I am in serious need of some write offs this year, and I have never been to one of these over hyped summits before (hxxp://ppcsummit.com/index.html). I used to attend every porn convention for 7 years, but thats a whole different ballgame I'm assuming. Has anyone here actually been to one of these white hat conventions? If so, learned anything, made any decent connections, open bar, good hookers ?

I am skeptical, it seems there is a new one every 2 months and the $1000 entrance fee is steep. As I said I need the write offs and I also would welcome an excuse to go back home to LA for a couple days, but if it completely sucks I can find something else.

Its a write off. If you haven't reaped the benefits of face to face networking, you either haven't done it, or you're not doing it correctly. The benefit of conventions and gatherings has little to do with whats being talked about in seminars or lectures. Serious money is made from a chance meeting at the hotel bar, or at an after party.

This question was posted in the white hat section. The amount of money being traded back and forth between Internet marketing agencies is staggering. Get a couple corporate clients and you're set for life on auto pilot.. That's not speculation, thats fact.

The question was posed to anyone who had attended. So far it looks like the answer is 'no one'

I am no expert but I have attended one before and definitely thought it was worth the time and effort. Like you previously stated its the contacts you make and people you meet. Not necessarily the things being said. Many times I find myself wanting to attended two things going on at the same time and having to choose one I find the most useful or wanting to learn more on. Definitely worth the price not only for the info. but definitely the networking aspect of it all.
