Pay Per Click Guide for a newbie

I know PPC is much trial and error as it is knowledge.. but I've been looking for a good guide on how to use PPC properly before going into it and I have been unable to find one.. I've been adept at SEO for a long time and I want to expand and develop my skills in Adwords for various reasons.. I did it long ago but with the new interface I am quite perplexed..

Does anyone know where I can find or read a good pay per click guide?

I also suggest you read and read on here

I was a fan of Andrew Goodman's stuff when it first came out in the early 2000s. He really laid it all out. Dunno how it compares to the modern stuff though.

its trial and error, if you're not willing to take the risk, then you prob. shouldnt do PPC
