Passive App Project - Throw pies at me

I've found a new interest the last weeks and want to improve my portfolio with passive income from an app. I'm in contact with a seller of an app that seems really legit (whitehat app) and looks really good.

But before I buy this app from him and start my journey, I would be glad if some of you who been into this business to tell me your most valuable tips or tricks you wish you knew before you started with phone apps. Some tips and tricks, what to NOT do and what to do?
