Organization is a must OP, and not only for SEO purposes but simply for an easier navigation across your site. If your site focuses on one niche, then there's no need to Silo it too much and you can go with "whatever the hell you feel like" approach. Silo, in the true sense of the word, is really necessary only if you have a huge multiniche site. If you do not, then don't worry too much. Just interlink whatever with whatever, but have some navigational structure there and you will do just fine.

Silo is the way to go. Create supporting content for pages targeting high search volume keywords... The more the better
