Parasite SEO: When is it working?

Hi,
as you might already know, using TLDs like us.com or eu.com is nowadays common with iGaming affiliates.
They use that power to rank their sites with more ease. But that makes me question some things.

If that technique works, why isn't subdomain.vercel.app abused too? Shouldn't it have even more authority? Or is it penalized / detected in some way by Google? If so, why isn't it the same with those TLDs?
Some will say "Google treats subdomains as new domains", but we've seen with us.com that this isn't totally true. So... what is the truth?

It’s not that simple. Google treats subdomains and TLDs differently based on trust, usage, and patterns. Subdomains like vercel.app are often seen as user generated or temporary, so they don’t carry strong authority. Some TLDs may work short term, but long term rankings still depend on content, relevance, and real backlinks not just domain type.

It’s not just about domain “power”.

Parasite SEO works when the platform already has trust and the content fits naturally.

Random subdomains like vercel.app don’t have that same trust or context.
Also, Google got better at spotting patterns.

Google nukes free subdomains like vercel because they’re mostly low effort spam.
Paid tlds like us.com look more like real sites to the bots so they get a lot more slack.
If you want parasite seo to actually work stick to sites with massive organic traffic and real authority instead of free hosts.

First of all, us.com eu.com method is not Parasite SEO, all of them had a source website and backlinks hidden. They do not get ranked because they're lucky. I would not say blackhat, but these are one of the highest level of casino blackhat seo.

You can try creating a bunch of websites on them and it will not get ranked, unless it is a brand new term without competition.

vercel subdomains are way easier for google to identify as mass-generated hosting spam, that’s the main difference imo. us.com and similar TLDs look more like standalone sites, so they can hold authority signals better over time. i’ve seen custom TLD setups rank way more consistently once backlinks and trust signals kick in.

vercel.app is treated by Google more like a mass free-hosting platform, so each subdomain gets isolated trust and stricter spam checks.
But us.com / eu.com domains behave closer to normal standalone sites, so they can inherit more domain-level trust and rank more easily when backed with good links and SEO signals.
