Hey guys, I am doing organic research for reddit right now on SemRush, I would like to figure out what is the best way to approach it? When I type long tail keywords I got mostly zero results, when I type just one word I got some results but too general, I am trying to understand the process.

For example when I type thinking, got lots of results but when I type creative thinking or sharp thinking, I got zero.

The search on Reddit is based on broad, high-volume keywords, which can make the algorithm tricky.

You could break up your long tails into phrases that people on Reddit actually use in threads. For example, "ways to think sharply."
 
Charles Floate has a course on Parasite SEO. I haven't purchased it but it might be worth checking out.
 
This is how to do the organic research for reddit on semrush.
1) You do a domain search of reddit.com
2) you click on keywords
3) this is the list of keywords reddit is ranking

From here you take multiple routes

For one you can find top reddit pages based on traffic
You can further filter based on your seed keyword( like car, dryer or flight etc)

Here is a comment method.
You find the top reddit post ranking for example keyword: washer dryer
You add a comment to that reddit post with a link or a Brand name or with a domain name.
Then you upvote the comment and get to the top comment and get the traffic.

Easier said than done. Redditors downvote any self-promotion and posting links will get only get your account banned from the subreddit.

For better results, try using keyword variations like "creative mindset" instead of "creative thinking" and check SEMrush's “Questions” section for long-tail ideas.

Also, explore competitor keywords and consider related subtopics to expand your search. Good luck!
