Parameters for selecting sites to publish gues post on?

I would like to know the strategy you guys adopt for selecting sites to publish guest posts on. Do you go for sites with high DA or high DA and high traffic or High DA and moderate traffic?


Also, would it be better to go for one DA 50+ with high traffic site for 2-3 DA 20+ sites with some traffic?


I like to do a background search on each site I select to see if they have real traffic or have been hit by recent Google penalty and sport a clean backlink profile. I also only select sites with lots of actual daily posts and not sites with one or two posts daily and guest posts supplementing as posts. Is there an anything else I should be doing when selecting sites?

Generally is not that important how much traffic the whole site has but where the link is placed.
For example, newspapers with high authoritative sites are always a good linking source, but generally, they are the last resort in the whole linkbuilding strategy because the cost/value is the lowest among all.
Medium authoritative sites with links in the frontpage or one click away (like blogs) are always a better alternative in the beginning if they are cheap enough.

Forget about DA is a pure useless metric. If you are into linkbuilding strategies, get Ahrefs, see the linking profile of the site and see if they are authoritative enough by themselves (also check the outbound/inbound ratio).
At least you will know which to pick between a selection of domains you have the opportunity to purchase from.

Yes, news sites produce too much daily content and the links gets buried deep quickly.

Are there more parameters to determine authoritativeness of a site via ahref?

I think that worth to keep the things and frequency of submission as natural as possible.
Also you need be prepared for the following situation: today certain resource can be considered as acceptable one, by all criteria and next day everything can change.
Keep submission, just try not to be extra active.

It depends on the quality of the website. I try to get relevant link from high quality , High Authority site

I pay attention to DR, organic traffic. General traffic dynamics. (ahrefs)
The number of inbound / outbound links. It is important that the site does not have information with prices for guest posts.
It is also important that the site is not on the lists that are sent by Indians or other intermediaries.
