sorry to hear that bro.
this might sound silly but golf does wonders for my stress I feel sick if I dont play / get in fresh air for a while. I went through a period where I needed to drink frequently (not heavily) but a can or two each night to help relax. I had to cope with bereavement and some other bad stuff.
Most understandable, and you're right about golf.
In my case? DISC GOLF. Yup. If you like to throw things(ha), find a disc
golf course in your area (usually FREE to play too - and what else is in
life these days?) ...and I'll usually bring my rotties w/ me for the walk.
To anyone interested, I recommend to check online for discs, get
some good long distance drivers (usually innova champion or star plastic,
ex. t-birds or valkyries at different weights), fairway drivers (I like EZ Glides
and ROCs), and putters (rhyno's, or 'super soft wizards'), and preferably 2
putters .... you'll need a heavy one for those windy days!!! Anyway, once
you nail that first hole in one ... I'll tell ya... something def changes in you,
been playing for about 5 years and the sport is really catching on now.
Going off a bit here, but take a spinning disc, a symbol of Nature, Life,
inherent in Universal/Galactic form ... and when you are out there walking
around and buzzing them there is this underlying micro/macro that easily
puts one in sync, albeit subconsciously, with the flow of everything.
Completely took away my PTSD after a lot of self-healing in my twenties.
The idea w/ panic attacks, as another poster said, is like the
example of conditioning in the dark. The key ingredient I have
found is to remove yourself from any environment that triggers
a negative reaction, even if you can get out once in a while at
first. Creating such a rhythmic bond and building those positive interactions, over time, will help to strengthen the emotional,
physical, and mental bodies - entraining those neural pathways
and your psyche to both heal and evolve our obviously limited
biological forms. Doesn't matter who you are, applies to all.
All the Best,
gb
