Paid Directory Submissions

I don't understand something. These sites that submit your blog or site to 1000+ directories...doesn't that raise a red flag with Google when you all of a sudden accumulate that many backlinks in such a short amount of time?

When you outsource this task, should you have the person try to spread them out or what?

Yahoo dir is a very good one to start with as well as BOTW. Some important factor are PR, anchor text, number of outbound links.

ideally yes, slow submission would mean relevant submission.
