page vs post. For SEO i know it doesn't matter. But when i sitemap_index.xml my competitors i find they are doing mainly pages. is there a slight benefit to this? i have categ, tags, and now images turned to no-indexed. Images i think fucked my anchor text ratios up, as i was unaware of this.

I usually keep the ratio around 60/40 (post to page)

However it also depends on the niche of the Authority ... I am ranking better it seems across the board in one of my bug niche authority sites after having went from a ridiculous 80/20 (post to page) ratio implemented during the first 6 months of ranking for major kw...

Its never to late to tune things up - especially in the algorithm nightware we have to operate in lol It literally went from "Yeah content is king - google knows how to tell!" (2011-2016) to something like "Ya go faq yaselves, no one can explain it anymore with a straight face & we are as surprised by your sandboxing of your organic authority sites overnight.... We appreciate your cooperation though"

Pages allow you more control. And if you need the functionality of posts, like tags, categories, etc, then there are plugins for that. Overall, I prefer pages.

hahahaha this is so true. I've only been into seo for a wii bit now and have already noticed this.

I get better results with pages, I can't explain it though !!

Posts cuz i've got a script to turn category pages into normal pages, in turn allowing more control and easily letting me add posts (support posts) to the main pages.

My competitor is doing this. Makes main categories a page with some intro content then a section for 20+ supporting post with featured image. Has me confused how he’s able to rank them so high when there isn’t a lot of content on the actually page.

backlinks>content :P

I usually use pages, but for time sensitive content it would be wise to consider posts. I've got the feeling that Google understands difference between Wordpress page and post, but in general it shouldn't technically matter for SEO.

you really see a hugh input in intern supporting posts ?
i siloed a page and did not get any benefit at all.
Which page are you primarily trying to rank? the support pages or the "main page/silo page"?

You need to figure out if you have a giving or receiving structure
