The PR update means nothing, it's just for show and convenience that they update it all in one go. Google will rank you based on your links in real time. There's no "race against time" until the next PR update.

i got PR 2 , and now my site is not in top 1000 for that keyword , althought i have good bacllinks and , my domain name is preety catchy and got the key word in it but still cant seem to see any traffic thats y i hate , those freakin adult male product affiliates ..

The only time you will be racing against the PR Update, is when you make sites for selling or flipping

Ohhh PR update. One of my auto sites just got to PR 6.

You may say that PR means nothing, however having PR6 ve. PR4 means a whole lot of difference in ad revenue!

Like Micallef says, PageRank is a realtime thing, every second your pagerank is changing, as links come and go and therefore PR amongst interlinked pages. Any update is only showing you what your PR was at the exact time Google last decided to publish it.

On a side note, did you know that PageRank is actualy called that because Larry Page invented it and put his name to it, not because it's to do with pages. Although obviously it's pretty convenient.

Interesting fact, I didn't know that.

My pagerank zero, but I made around $150 in the first month or so. I guess it matters a bit, but really, you shouldn't be that bothered about it

interesting, had my new website up for 1 month and 19 days and I have a page rank of 3, guess that's a pretty good sign

No i am not saying that
I said some people don't KNOW how to monetize high PR
like selling links, where you can have your high PR site link to them for a fee
