If a site is redirected from www to no-www is there a period where pagerank drops to 0? The change was only made in Wordpress (Settings -> General )and Google Webmaster Tools ( Configuration -> Settings )? I was told the change was only made to those 2 so I threw in the redirect in htaccess from www to no-www. Would this be a cause for the PR drop or is this a penalty?

    Newyorkcity,

Yes your drop in PR is most likely attributable to the redirect (unless of course you were doing something else that you think you should be penalized forJ. At any rate, if you saw the drop shortly after the redirect, this was probably what caused it since the passing of authority and PR is not an instantaneous process. Keep an eye on your site and you should see the PR come back up in the next several weeks.

This thread talks about the same issue,

    Hope that helps,
