Page vs Post when it comes to SEO and ranking on google?

When you are adding important information that you would like to rank for in google do you add it to page or post?

Is there any advantage to adding it to page. Also does it help if you have the content on the main navigation ?

I noticed that on the sitemap by default google crawls pages more often then posts so one would think that pages would be indexed faster and given priority in SERPS over posts.

Any input on this guys ?

They are pretty the same... The only difference is the onpages (internal links, related posts etc).
