No PR does NOT corespondent to SERP. PR only really matters if you're selling your site. However Higher PR by no means= Higher SERP. Hope this helps... =D
Links from high pagerank and relevant sites will help your site move up in the serps.
Just because your site has a high pagerank, doesn't mean shit as far as ranking is concerned.
There are many high PR websites out there that don't rank for shit.
If you want my opinion, fuck PR, and focus on relevant links.
Don't start this debate again. Its too easy to argue for both sides. It doesnt directly matter, dont go spending money FOR PAGERANK. spend money for backlinks with anchor text targeted to your keywords.
BUT technically speaking, if you build pagerank to your homepage and they link to all of your subpages, you are gonna make use of the pagerank.
PageRank itself will not hugely help the site you want to rank BUT it will mean faster indexing (and higher start in SERPS for non competitive keywords) AND it will increase the value of your outgoing links (so if you get high PR in one of your sites you can link from that site to your other sites to rank!).
Thta's pretty cool. I'd actually love to see a site with say three PR8 links coming in and that was it. I actually wonder if it'd be like a pr7 or something.
Well, PR contribute negligibly in your rankings this is why representatives of Google always tell webmasters to focus on other metrics like SERP rankings, conversion rate and ROI etc.
