When I'm doing link building with a keyword anchor text, the page I'm building links to disappear from the search engine for that specific term.. is this normal? should I stop building links or what should I do?

I've been away from SEO for a while,, years ago I know this was just google dance but I didn't think it was still a thing? maybe so?

any insight would be appreciated

Check if your links are indexed or not. If not, then the reason is anything else. When you build these links? Nowadays, it's rare to build links and see the impact instantly. It might be Google dances as well. So check your link is index or not at the first point.

Did you buy links from fiverr ?
If yes say hello to sandbox

Google dancing might happen when you are backlinks getting indexing. You can wait up to one week

Use managed anchor and also check the link which you have made is indexed or not..by the way links don't show their impact instantly ..it will take time..and yes you site appears again it is normal just a google dance

I think it's normal.

I do experience that, they only resurface at a better position than they were

Those fluctuations are normal in the phase of link building, but make sure you diversify the anchor text( dont use same keyword anchor, this will harm the site) and backlink profile.

Don't point too many links at same time, build links with pace. Try to get links from quality and unique site, this can help stable the SERP soon.

it is normal it will not effect instantly and dont put your text with exact keyword use the variations

wow thank a lot guys for the insight! it shows up when I change the search term just a bit.. i guess the google dance is still a thing lol

I really appreciate the feedback and I will defiantly start diversifying the anchors
