For those that don't already know, Pnterest recently changed shit up, a lot. I've found out a lot of stuff recently on it and wanted to mention a small thing that will help most of you...
I made a method thread about a year ago, that was based around joining group boards and pinning to them. I wouldn't say the method is totally dead, but Pnterest has seen that most people are using this technique (even legit people) and it's causing a monopoly-type thing. There are real food bloggers out there crying real tears over it right now.
There's a fuckton to this change, won't go into all of it, if you care enough you can find it in google. The overall biggest thing though, is that it has now become a race to rank in the stupid search niches.
One thing that they've done, that's easy to change and will help you guys out a lot imo, is they are putting more weight on keywords in pins and GROUP BOARD TITLES AND DESCRIPTIONS. I highly advise you to take the time to do some keyword research, and stuff the fuck out of your group board names and group board descriptions (in a non-spammy looking way, of course). If you have time, do it to some of your pins too. Avoid hashtags, they are 100% irrelevant at the moment. I am working on this myself-- when I started, it was the "in" thing to have "witty" board names, now that works against you. I have to go back and rename most of my boards now. Research how to do keyword research for seo, put in the work, and make your boards work for you. Give it a few days, Pnterest sometimes takes quite a while to update.
Once you do this, you will notice a dramatic increase in individuals following individual boards of yours. I suppose this is Pnterest's way of "spreading the love", and getting pinners away from those superboards owned by people with a shitton of followers and having too much influence and power in one place.
As always, and I've said this many times on many types of methods and such, take some time to check out what successful people are doing, you'll find gems.
