So, do you think it is a stupid idea to find clients locally to improve their rankings and outsourcing SEO from sites like fiverr?

Hi, until you have a full grasp on your clients needs, you should do the SEO yourself. When you identify area of your weakness then look into hiring a pro, probably not from fiverr though!

Fiverr and seo in the same sentence should be barred from ever being mentioned.

There are some great agencies who will white label seo service for you.

Fiverr would be your worst choice, don't waste your time with shitty services like fiverr instead invest your time reading at forum than implement and come out with your own seo strategy. You will feel completed and even better you will know the exact and right place you can outsource your seo without harming or affecting your projects at all.

If you want to have a good reputation don't use Fiverr, outsource properly or do it yourself

Even outside Fiverr, be careful when you outsource SEO. If they buy cheap back links it will do more harm than good for your clients.

If you're going to outsource SEO to cheap bidders (<1000$) then expect your clients to get penalized. Good luck retaining them after that.

Instead of fiverr, try services from BHW. Right now it is the largest IM service marketplace that is still active and has decent quality services. Of course, be careful and choose smartly, read reviews, do your research. Since your clients likely do not want to get their site penalized, most likely you need to play it safe like you would with your own quality website. This means avoiding going with just the cheapest links, but going more for quality, diversification packages, quality web 2.0s.

From there you can start exploring PBN services that actually work and are high enough quality to be used for clients. Be careful many PBNs use spun content and might not be around in a few months. So proceed with caution.

You want to be able to show these links to clients. Contextual links should be readable quality.

A good way to go is guest post links. But very few do a real legit outreach campaigns. Most guest post services are just glorified PBN sites. To get good outreach links, you need to do it yourself. Services that do real outreach are usually in price range $100-150 per link.

If you go with fiverr services, you will most likely be scamming your clients with crap links that will get them penalized, so you will have to keep finding new clients, while old clients hate you for penalizing their sites.

Of course you could create high quality marketing/social media/SEO campaigns for your clients with fiverr services. But that would mean not just buying SEO/link-building services, but being creative and coming up with a plan to develop legit brand-building social media campaigns and finding an angle unique for each client.

The problem with Fiverr isn't that they have had a massive drop in the quality of the work... the problem is that SEO requires a LOT higher quality than it did 3, 4, 5 years ago when Fiverr was fairly popular for outsourcing. Back then spun articles could be submitted to SeNuke for a quick/cheap tier two blast Fiverr was a great place.

But these days there are a lot more manual article submissions you'll be needing, and you'll be wanting unique manually written content that's readable. Last time I tried to use Fiverr for a serious content project I got a lot of fake content and it was completely useless. Many refunds later I gave up on them as a source.

The idea of outsourcing is always valid, but you need to find a more niche hookup for everything these days in my experience.

Then hire virtual assistants to do manual white hat SEO for your clients ... wait, I didn't say manual white hat SEO just now did I??

No really, build own powerful PBN, hide from backlink crawling bots (Majestic, Moz, etc ...), use it for your clients, don't tell them about it. If they don't need you to provide link reports, great, if they do, as I said above, hire VAs, make them build some links so you can show something for the client but utilise own PBN to make them really rank.

I am not sure why some people are against fiverr when its just a platform. If you pick the right links from the right sellers then you would be good to go but still, I would not follow this route when working on client sites.

When out sourcing I find it very hard to keep quality and give your clients the expectations of there brand image.

Example: forestry company

60 second video of trees with Indian porno music and your clients like WTF but you can't take it down because you outsourced and the guy you bought from did as well.

Your better off to make the videos and links to your quality and buy high end links to them.

Or write your own articles and have them guest posted so you can control client image.

Things can go down hill pretty quick, do all brand marketing your self, out source supporting links

It's a platform famous for low quality and loose standards. Thanks to paid reviews/ratings, it's impossible to know who is legitimately good and who is selling spam links, so even the highest rated sellers bring a non-trivial risk of getting your domains penalized/de-indexed.
