Outsourcing Packaging and Shipping Products

Hey all.

I have found a good product on Ebay. I can get it at a good price and at the rate the lowest seller in the same product line is selling it, I can make 2 dollars per sale at that rate. It looks like I can sell 50-75 per day.

The problem is I really do not want to print labels for each sale, package, and ship them. I would estimate it would take 1 hour per 50 to do + shipping them out, which I am not sure about. My goal is to generate more products so i have multiple products, outsourcing most of them.

Also, I do not know the process of bringing roughly 150 packages to a post office every three days, i don't think my local post office will be very fond with me, or someone else doing this

I was hoping to pay someone .50 dollar per sale to print out the labels, package, and ship them. I would supply them with everything. I am not sure if that is a good enough offer, but it seems very good for others who instead would be working for minimum wage.

I am 16. Not that that changes anything, but if anyone has ideas, please help.

Can you get it drop shipped? If so, then the dropshipper can handle all of that.

I do not know about where you live, but in the UK you can get the post office to pick up bulk parcels, or just take them direct to the sorting office.

The problem is if I give them over 15% of each sale it is not worth it for me. The item sells for 7 dollars. I only make 2 after everything is said in done. Then I have to add in the shipping work. So anything over $1 per package labor makes it not worth it for me.

Most drop shippers i have been looking at charge 20-30%

HMMM....

100-150 dollars per day for one hour of packaging.... and you're worried about the post office giving you looks? They are a business, after all. More packages means more business.

I think you're trying to separate yourself from your products.

This is brilliant. Thank You.

The problem I have is my limits are currently at 100. I need that a lot higher. Will ebay be willing to do that for me or will they be a pain. My current feedback is at 60 and 100%, my 1st sale was roughly 3 and a half months ago.

Depending on where you are located, it can be very simple to get your local post office in the US to come to you and pick up your packages. If you are just selling one item, and you know what it weighs, you should be able to automate a lot of what you do. Shipping programs like Endicia allow you to bulk print labels from CSV files. You upload all your sales, you print 100 labels in 5 minutes. You can also look at solutions like shipworks that charge by volume, but allow you print labels directly from ebay and upload tracking information.

As a seller who has sold on eBay since 1999, I suggest explore these type of solutions that you can control and further modify before contracting for a service where you have no control over QC. Moreover, if you hire someone, perhaps they will figure out what you are doing and replicate it themselves.
