I am setting up a travelwebsite. I want to outsource al the marketing because I have other business to focus on.

I want to pay by commission for every paying customer. Does anyone have suggestions about how I can track who generated the lead.
Should it matter to me how they generated the customers? For instance does it hurt my business if my marketeers spam the heck out of it?

Yeah it hurts the legitimacy of your business if your marketers
are spamming. You could set up some sort of promotional offer
only available through that specific marketer or assign every marketer a code
and have your users input the code or answer a question about how they got to your site.

The code sounds like a good idea. I think I won't be able to check if someone is spamming anyway.

Yeah you probably won't. But you'll be able to tell
by the quality of your traffic and conversion rates.
