As a few people on here have said - you get what you pay for.
I write for around 4c/word on an agency platform and I know what I'm giving clients is copy/paste straight onto their website quality. Depending on exactly what kind of content you're looking for, something high quality can easily be double that price.
Of course, you could always hire an editor who will make it work for less money, but you'd be adding an extra step in the whole process. If it is something you need quickly, it's not always the best option.
