Hello,

I am working together with a programmer on a web project that will be generating income from monthly subscriptions. The project in my opinion will have a great potential, but we have very little funds to start with, so I open this thread to get some advice, for which I thank you all in advance!

I have the legal part covered - making a company and all the legal stuff, my partner has all the coding/design covered too. The problem is none of us is CEO or marketing specialist.

How much do you think the services of a freelancer will cost us per month and how will the results/performance be measured? What can be expected for the money we invest in this person? I need as much info as possible to be able to plan the finances needed, budgets and all!

Thank you for your valuable comments!

It's hard to estimate how much a SEO will ask for his services. Diferent people, different quotes :)

However, you seem to have an interesting project. Why don't you try to convince someone to join your team? Not just like "do this this and that and here is your money, bye", but more like a friend "let's all have a chat and discuss what's better in terms of optimization".

Freelancing is all about money. Difficulty/time of execution. This is the best solution for quick results. BUT the one I suggested will help you in the long run.

Good luck with your project and I hope you'll find a suitable SEO for your needs.

Your problem as I see it is that you really an never be sure about some one's skill level when it comes to hiring a free lance. Compounded by the fact that SEO is a long game. You do not know if the work was good for a few months.

I don't think there is an easy solution. Maybe have some freelancers submit proposals and then have other people who know what they are doing but are not interested in free lancing do a review of the proposals.

SEO cost vary from several hundreds to hundreds of thousands, so it's not possible to guess what would be SEO cost for your site unless you provide more details...

SEO cost also depends upon expectations of person, if you have big expectations then you might have to spend more from start...

Why don't you go and ask some SEO companies to provide you free quote for your site... This will give you some rough Idea of cost... Also since you don't have enough funds, I don't think outsourcing will be your solution... You should start learning about SEO and do it on your own...

With those quotes I would also ask for other projects they have worked on and the success that was achieved and also if possible a reference from one of their customers.

Thank you all for your recommendations, I will ask some companies for a quote to get an estimate or any better idea :)
