I have a client right now which I'm creating a website for. He is a local business owner. My question is, I know what SEO is and how to create links and get websites/pages ranked but I don't really have time in the long run to make sure the page stays on the first page of Google. I need someone who I can hire this long-term job. It doesn't require 10 hours a day of SEO work but just in the long run to make sure everything is fine. Do you guys think I should try oDesk or a similar service for this issue?
Any suggestions?

just try hire a freelancer or services for sale section
 
10 hours a day on one website??? Are you sure you know what you are talking about?

Why not try a service here in BHW? You can just pay a monthly fee from one of the good SEO providers here.

Check out Defensive SEO by veheme in the Buy/Sell Services section, it has lots of great reviews and maybe a monthly subscription with them is enough to make your client happy.

Yes you can do it with odesk, freelancer, elancer etc As well as BHW .. For quality service(quite expensive) you should choose BHW .. and for cheap service go for odesk ..
