Outsmarting google

I just read a 250 page book called outsmarting google. It was an okay book, nothing i already knew. The main subject that struct me was the NUCLEAR FOOTBALL - basically, the more quality pages you post per day the stronger google magnet to get indexed and ranked higher. But the part about google sandbox strike'd me. Basically i have to wait 3 months to start ranking in the search results for my keywords.

But, i'm ranking in many search's, but most of them have low search results. But something mind boggled me today. One of my newest blogs has 17 post so far and just created two weeks ago. I noticed on google analytic's and blogger that i was ranking for a new keyword. This keyword is different from all the other keywords, most of the keywords im ranking for are longtail and low search results, which makes it easier to rank. But this new keyword i just start ranking for is ranking the bottom of page 1 and the search results are 800,000 and competition is low. But we all know that even low competition keywords can be difficult to rank, to make it worse, i havent done any optimizing except for twitter and fb likes from exchange sites, but this page has none yet.


After reading that book, im starting not to believe in google sand box - note google sandbox is when you have to wait x amount of months to start ranking.

New pages tend to get a temporary 'boost' in rankings and your situation is quite common. Often I'll post a new article and it'll suddenly appear on first page for a couple of days then slip off the radar altogether for a few weeks-months. After some SEO a few months down the line it comes back. Not sure of the reasoning behind this but I've also heard other people discussing it.

I've been penalized by google three times. First 2 time my site was back to its good positions after exactly 3 month like a clock. During 2 times period I was submitting 5 articles per day and was not building backlinks. The third time I was penalized for over a year now I was submitting 3 articles per month. Just switched back to 5 will see if penalty will be removed after 3 months.
