    Hey guys,
My dad has been recently managing a restaurant and golf course and was looking into advertising. They have a website already made and it is okay. I was thinking about making a new website (so I don't risk their current rank) and targeting keywords such as "town golf courses" and "restaurants in town". These keywords, and several others bring in traffic of around 100 a month, which I know isn't a lot but it would help out with local business and probably be more efficient than advertising in expensive newspapers.

In market samurai the competition for the top sites for some of these keywords are decent, but not the best I dont think. They have lots of links to their domain, like 400 000.. but they only have like 16 backlinks to the specific keyword page. They also don't have the keyword in their URL. They are also registered on DMZ and Yahoo. I was wondering how difficult this would be to outrank if I were to make a specific keyword page and fully optimize it towards that. Is it mainly about backlinks to page?

If I were to go about this I would probably be trying to purchase a few hundred links off of fiverr. I was wondering if this is safe, or if I should go about doing it a different way. I was also wondering if it would be okay to link to the real site from some of these pages so that it just acts as a in between "review" sort of page for the restaurant and then they can link right to the real page. Would i need to make the links nofollow to make sure google doesn't see them as a link farm or what precautions should I go about for this?

Thanks so much, any help is appreciated.

Does their website get much traffic at the moment? If their site is outdated, updating it would maybe be worth your time. This way the best content/design/etc is your money site.

Especially with smaller traffic'd kw, onpage seo is one of the biggest factors. I would spend your time initially working on that. Then backlink the page with a little link diversity.

Fiverr can have some great deals and also some spam,so just be careful with what you get. Setting up tiers can be a good idea, but especially with a small business, make sure any "reviews" that are directly linking to your money site are not too spammy. You would not want a customer to find obviously faked reviews.

It will be worth it because if someone searches golf, town then being one of the top results gives him a better chance than not. My family owns a restaurant and I smiled when a customer came to the counter and said "I found your restaurant online, so I want to check it out" !

Anyway, the poster above me nailed it, make a nice website or update the old one and put some good SEO optimized content in it to target restaurants, town or restaurant, town. I researched both and saw that restaurant, town had about 300 less searches p/month than restaurantS, town did.

But once that is done you can do maybe 5 web 2.0's with decent articles on them and then buy some fiverr gigs to those which will give you a little boost. If you dont mind spending $20 go find royalmices service here in BHW and buy his service, but not before you optimize the site. You can use his service directly to your money site. I have used it a bunch of times already and for low comp keywords it really gets the keywords moving in the right direction. Once you see where you land you can get into some pricier services that yield good results like High PR blog networks etc...

I will 2nd the importance of your on site SEO. Use a toll such as Traffic Travis to check the on page optimization for each of your landing pages. Make sure you have an A+ rating for each of them.

Then a well rounded assortment of backlinks with your kws for anchor text.
