Outrank 15 year old website

hi guys,

for one of my main keywords i rank #2, the first place got a 15 year old site. but this website got barely no backlinks. i already got about 5x more backlinks and not crappy blogcomments or something like this. is it possible to outrank a site like this? the keyword is also the domainname of my competitor.

If the website is targeting that keyword on page + its in the domain you might want to move on.

But of course one would have to have to look at the site before giving you the best answer.

sad . my website is about 10 month old, and the plan is to get big with this site (im targeting several other keywords). maybe i can outrank them in 1 or 2 years when my domainage is higher.

I've outranked an 8 year old site with a 6 month old site so you may want to avoid the naysayers.

It is possible. How often does this website post content, if it does? How often do you? What are their social media profiles like? How "relevant" is your website. That is how you have to think of it. Make your website more relevant than the other website.

1. A Diverse Link Profile
2. Constant Social Media "pushes" or signals
3. Perfect On site SEO
4. Post new content, even if it is small.

There are ways to outrank a strong aged domain, however, you will need to analyse what the domains "weaknesses" are and focus on bettering yours in that area.
