I wasn't sure where to put this thread, so I put it here. Just had 3 hours of frustration on this f****** problem, it would be amazing if anyone can help me...
So I try to do something I've done a million times before: connect an email account to my outlook using the imap protocol. I'm using a well-known webhost that supports these functionalities. I've got 6 comparable email addresses connected on one pc and 1 email address on my other pc and all work fine.
Steps I follow to connect:
1. File > Account settings
2. New...
3. Fill in the email ([email protected]), click advanced options and "Let me set up manually"
4. Click IMAP
5. Incoming mail:
mail.yourdomain.com with port 993
Encryption SSL/TLS
Require SPA
6. Outcoming mail:
same but with port number 465
7. Password
8. Authentication failed...
I'm losing my mind over this. I've connected at least 4 other email accounts this year which all went fine, and now it's bugging. What is this?
