Way too many "Oh wooow how is this site ranking for #1" threads...

99% of the time it is competitors. There is no reason to drop a site link on this forum.

Heavy hitters read this site daily. Look how major sites are constantly referencing posts here.

Outing sites is the biggest bitch move.

It is the same thing every time.

1. Asshole outs a site
2. People tell them to remove the link
3. They reply "oh I just want to learn"

Out sites = instant ban.

It is ridiculous.

Not just hyperlinks...

Regardless if it is http://www.site.com or www dot site dot com

Out a site = banned.

I can understand when a noob does it, but 99% of times it is clearly a competitor acting like a douche.

Yeah, but sometimes it can take a bit before the post is removed - damage can be done very fast.

If it was a public rule it might prevent some damage.

Your concern is right.
But I am pretty sure, its not gonna stop completely.
The noobs intentionally create new accounts and posts like that.
But your idea is good, its gonna stop it a bit, something better than nothing.
