There are hundreds to thousands. While facebook has become the market leader in my area a year ago, Xing and linkedln have potential to outgrow facebook in the long run. There are also many other, smaller, specialized networks who dominate certain cities and/or social groups/classes. Studivz for example is extremely popular among German students. With five million users.

maybe less traffic but maybe you can get targeted traffic. im really looking for something like facebook because of the fan pages

That's what I want to know. I hear they plan on launching it soon but if they can compete with Facebook remains to be seen.

i believe thats they plan. Cant buy fb so compete with them
right well after the pis-sing match facebook had with google I would do the same thing and just start my own as well, plus google has Gmail but then again thats why facebooks little bich lyers oops did I say lyers what I meant was lawyers are up everyones back sides they are mad that google will release their site before facebook gets their email system running or so thats what I have gathered from several forums along with facebook and google.
