It's Sony Vegas, an expensive one but totally worth of its price.

I guess he's looking for screen recording, not editing.

If so, fraps is good but can be finicky.

You could of course just crack camtasia... they also allow a 30 day full demo if you only need it for a quick job.

Trees always iMovie if you have a Mac.

Don't hesitate to get into live streaming as some of the popular free titles have a means of recording (especially YouTube or DailyMotion recorders if you mute the sound.)

Some new ways to record have started to pop up, but for general uses AVS Studio is also a suitable alternative.

For Macs, I know Quicktime has a preloaded screen recording feature!

Camtasia is extremely easy to crack.. you don't even need any additional software. I'm not sure about the PC version but with the Mac version, all I had to do was enter a single line on Terminal and that was it

camtasia studio is what even experts and noobs all use. So why you want some alter if you already have best tool to use?

Camtasia isnt recommended to use alot.
Try out XSplit.

Thee are some alternatives of Camtasia Studio that are
CamStudio
EZVid
FFsplit
Fraps, etc.

Have you any method to permanently crack Camtasia 8 (for Windows Version)?. I have edited host file using IP for Activation, but it's not a permanent solution.

I recommend using Filmora then. It's extremely similar to camstasia, but I don't know if it's cheaper. You can find many ways to get the full version for free on yt tho.

I used CamStudio Screen Recorder a few years ago. It is a free software but the video settings such as frames and resolution needs to be tweaked in order to avoid huge files, and the audio settings must also be correct or it won't be synched with the video.

Edit: Beware! I just saw they had a hundred 1-star reviews on sourceforge, and the reviews say it is terrible nowadays with lots of adware.
