I have had a site for about 10 years without never been able to monetize it...its frutas.com which translate to fruits.com and thats why i havent been able to just let it go...without any work at all its paying its own fees with ads.

So i was wondering if anyone here is having any success with only white hat methods on any other language than english?

Go for it, have some nice keywords selected and get building links

Your domain is frutas.com? Then I suppose that people speaking that language will use frutas as the search keyword. And they who don't speak that language will use fruit. So I suppose having fruit.com will get more hits.

and I would use a english domain as it ends with .com, if I created a domain for example frukt (fruit) then I would give it a .no top domain, like frukt.no

This is just my $0.02 (2 cents). I'm often wrong about this, I'm still learning. Just wanted to share my thoughts. This is an interesting thread. I look forward to reading what others will post in this thread.

Hi I'm from Croatia and I'm in seo and marketing stuff for quite long now...
My country is small one (4,5 mil of people) and it is quite easy for me to dominate allmoust every niche that I want in my country/language. I have tried to beat most competitive keywords like "games" and "cars" in my language and it was so easy, but there is the downside of that story, because there is no competition also there are quite small number of people which are advertising and spending money so you can't earn much money from your bussines even if you are the top in the google. My Croatian sites are earning me a money still, but it is pocket money comparing to the my english speaking sites and internationaly/US focused once.

Nemanja
