well, I for sure went WTF?!? And I honestly didn't know that ostriches are so freaking big, I never saw one in real life (and we don't have them here in our zoo either, so yeah, I didn't have anything to compare them against until I saw it running alongside the cyclists

Yeah I never knew they got that tall. At first I was skeptical, then saw it was 10yr old vid, then had to search and find that they can get up to 9ft tall, wow this is legit!well, I for sure went WTF?!? You know what at one point I was thinking, was the ostrich actually interested in pursuing those 2 dudes for that long because that was a long hot pursuit or did it feel like it was also being chased by the guy at the back so it kept running too but unfortunately ended up following the two in the front

Hahahaha I'm a cyclist and I've been chased by all kinds of dogs, even a cow, but being chased by an ostrich would scare me.

Never seen one in real life… I knew they are fast runners, but I thought that was for running away from danger, not sprinting toward usfunny

I didn't know they run so fast, I knew very little about ostriches before watching this clip, so for me it was all a massive (but funny) shock watching this. So yesterday I got learn'd as they say (I know that the correct word is taught, not learn'd, but screw it, I'm using learn'dI knew they are fast runners, but I thought that was for running away from danger, not sprinting toward us

I've no idea how ostriches think, so I couldn't say. But my assumption was that its instinct brought him into the chase (animals have very strong instincts from what I know) for no other reason than purely fun / instincts, so probably that...
I'm a bigger conspiracy theorist than you, so your conspiracy is pretty innocent when compared to my conspiracies, no worries

some people (ME) cuddle with the chickens and ducks (btw, birds are my favorite animal, after birds come the dogs and wabbits), while others are terrified of them. Life's weird...

The chickens aren't pets, they're food. They do entertain us but their collective name is "girls" and the rooster's name is "soup". Now the ducks, we have Rhoda the Bad Seed named from the movie because she's one naughty little Indian Runner. Then there's Sister who absolutely loves pettins. She'll start making this noise that is like a duck purring. Rhoda won't let us pet her yet but Sister absolutely loves it.
As soon as we get a bigger coop and runs this summer we'll add to the flock. Whatever chickens I've inherited lay small eggs. I mean, small. Not quite fairy eggs but close to it. So I want some large layers and I found someone who sells some large laying breeds like Rhode Island Reds. Then we're going to scour the animal shelters for some female runner ducks. We do love their eggs but we want 2-3 more just because we've unexpectedly fell in love. And my garden has never been so slug free.

) yeah, they do love slugs, my neighbour's chickens eat them too (I don't own poultry, so I have to handle my neighbour's when they're out of town, which is like 6-7 month a year...)I had no idea what the Rhode Island Reds are (I'm not American, so we don't use this name around these parts), but I looked it up and they seem a pretty big (or normal I guess) breed of chickens, so I'm surprised that they lay puny eggs (unless... the ones that you've inherited are not RIRs, in which case it would make sense.)
Anyway, poultry are fun... I grew up on the countryside, and I used to stare at chickens for several hours straight few days a week. Ok, not really "straight", I would still take breaks, go eat or whatever, but many of my childhood days would be spent staring at (and being around in general) poultry and livestock, which is probably why I've developed a hobby for bird watching
that's like your opinion, and I respect it but I don't have to agree with it... although, I admit that I do consume poultry meat
... But at least I don't slaughter them, I tried killing a chicken once when I was becoming a young adult, and I failed, but that's a story for another day... and hopefully that day never comes because I don't want to remember any part of it, let's just say that I'll never kill (or even harm) any fauna ever again (unless I'm starving and have to eat them to survive)...So yeah, for me chickens are pets, not food, but to each their own
I did! And I'm getting a void in my stomach... I love me some birb pets, but I'm not sure that ostriches are birbs...
