Open discussion.. What do you guys think the top 5 or 10 or so review sites are to check when working with a local business?

I think Yelp, G+ and Trip Advisor are top. If they're a restaurant, Urban Spoon. Any thoughts?

Angie's List? Yahoo Local? Insider Pages? Citysearch? Consumer Search? Facebook?

Yellowpages, Angieslist, Homeadvisor, Consumerreports, BBB

hmm, you recommended Consumer Reports and BBB.... meanwhile I don't think you can add reviews to them, and consumer reports is for products, not businesses. Do you even do ORM or am I missing something in these 2?

I've never heard of Home Advisor, this is a new one for me.

Take a look at this

You can set up contacts with an author there and have him post a news related article, it can be done and is done.

About BBB, get yourself accredited

Like you said, it also depends on the niche.

Just a few random ideas below:

G+, Yelp, Tripadvisor are no doubt the most popular.

Urbanspoon = Restaurants
RateMDS = Medical
Dealerships = Cars.com, Edmunds.com etc.
Construction/Handyman work = Homestars

Social media = Facebook, Foursquare

Directory = Yellowpages, Insiderpages, Citysearch etc.
