ORM issue with Google images

I created a website for a client about a month ago with the purpose of pushing down some negative Google images and we have been posting high quality content on a regular basis for the past month. I have noticed that images in the posts will appear near the top of google image results for a couple of days then completely disappear from the image results. I'm talking nowhere to be found in the 1st 500+ images. The images are near our desired keywords and the description, alt tags, and captions all contain relevant keywords (not in a spammy way though). I haven't seen this happen before-does anybody have any idea what is going on?

Are the images stock photos or duplicated somewhere else? Rarely will Google show duplicate photos. It can happen but it's rare.

Go outside and take a bunch of real pictures, or buy real pics from someone.

No, these are 100% original photos supplied by the client. I've checked and they are not on any other sites

How did you check? Did they resemble other images? How many images is Google showing from your site?

I would assume it has to do with diversity of the domain rather than the picture if they're unique and different. I just searched "ahrefs" and went to Google images and a little more than half look to be from ahrefs.com.

I did a reverse image search and I also know that the images supplied to me were exclusively for this project. It's a relatively new site so...you think I might need to throw some backlinks at it?

It could be related to how Google sees the domain, in that case links and social might help. I would spend the budget on contextually relevant posts, each using a different unique image.

Having 100 domains with 1 image is better than 1 domain with 100 images.
