Original Content for eCommerce Site?

I have a client that owns a huge online store and he has hired me to do SEO. His previous website was slow and unprofessional so I redesigned it. He has well over 100 products that he wants featured, but has no original content written for these items. I have a "news & blog" page which has quality articles related to his business and the niche he is in.

I know that these unique product descriptions will have a substantial result in ranking higher. What methods can I do to optimize the site without buying/writing 100+ articles?

I was considering just writing generic descriptions for similar products, is this something I should consider?

The best still would be to hire a good writer to write a nice product description. For 100 products that would cost around 300-400$ maybe less....
I really believe that worth the money for your client,and a well written description can increase sales too

I don`t really know another solution for you...maybe try to spin the current descriptions
