It's a hassle once you start building backlinks manually to keep track of your websites, tier 1/2/3 accounts, social networks etc.

What do you prefer, a simple excel document to keep track of account information and links or what do you use?

You're absolutely right, once you start building backlinks, the question of backlink management comes up. If you're into tired linkbuilding, there will be thousands of links and adding them manually and verifying in Excel sheets sounds like a lot of extra work to do. A more attractive option is to go for a software solution and to have a complete control over all backlinks pointing to a site.

For instance, in WebMeUp you can effectively manage any linkbuilding campaign. The tool automatically organizes all backlinks in convenient spreadsheets and allows you to perform a range of link management activities - store links, assign tasks and set automatic link monitoring. More to that, you can regularly verify all your existing links for URLs, anchor texts, do-follow and no-follow attributes. I personally prefer excel for backlinks reports b'cause they can be viewed and saved for later use when it comes to tier backlinks i just create tabs for each but a bit of work involved in this.

Excel for backlink report. Anyone in permission can view links.keep longer for next days and it is as online report.
