Hello all!
It seems to me that quite a few people here are missing proper organization. This thread should give those members an idea of how to work in a better, more constructive way.
Those are just a couple of points that come to my mind while writing this post, so feel free to post your ideas too. Make em well formatted, I will then put it into the first post here if the idea is good.
That being said, let's start off:
Alright, those were a couple of things that just came to my mind and are pretty important imho. All of these actions are very simple but can make a huge difference. I'm looking forward to see some good additions.

Those are just a couple of points that come to my mind while writing this post, so feel free to post your ideas too. Make em well formatted, I will then put it into the first post here if the idea is good.
That being said, let's start off:
Organize yourself
- Accept the fact that you simply cannot remember everything. The human mind has to deal with a very huge amount of information every day. This leads us to point 2:
- Always carry a notepad or pieces of paper along with a pen with you. You are in your car, going by bus, sitting at your job, listening to a lecture, or whatever and suddenly a nice idea or a nice twist of an idea comes to your mind. WRITE IT DOWN! There's a very big chance you are just gonna forget it until you are home.
- Plan. You need to setup a proper plan of how you are gonna perform a certain technique. You need to ask yourself those questions:
What is it gonna cost to establish this idea?
What's the best case, worst case and average case of return?
How long is it gonna take to setup everything? When will I start earning money out of it?
What might (possibly) fail? Is there a backup plan?
To-Do list - Timetable - ... Split the whole thing up in smaller tasks, so you can better tell how much time you need to invest.
- Take the pieces of paper from point 3 and put them into a folder.
- Use a calendar. A lot of us have other responsibilities, a job, and so on. Get a calendar (both an offline and an online one - Lightning for Thunderbird fe, google helps) and put all your appointments and stuff in there, so you know when you are gonna be able to work on your newest website or whatever! Combine that calendar with point 2 - take it with you all the time.
- Use a fast and clean machine. Get rid of all crap you got installed, everything that irritates you. Put the install files and data for everything you need on partition B, format partition A, install programs and you will be so much more productive.
- If you can afford it, get yourself a printer (in case you don't have one - the cheapest one you find should be ok) and a 24+ inch monitor. Mine was $350 and it improves the quality of your work time sooo much. Combine it with your old monitor and you are so much faster.
Alright, those were a couple of things that just came to my mind and are pretty important imho. All of these actions are very simple but can make a huge difference. I'm looking forward to see some good additions.
