Pop quiz!
Let us say you are an author. You write a bunch of novels, high quality. No AI. No shortcuts. You put together a cast of voice actors and pay professional audiobook editors to take your first book and turn it into an audiobook. What next?
Next, you decide to put the damn thing up on youtube and give it away for free. Madness, right? Setting a premiere date for November 1rst, 2025... that would leave you thirteen days to tell the world that they should come and enjoy the audiobook.
This is a high quality product that you are essentially giving away for free. A few hours of entertainment and all your customers have to do is give a few hours worth of their attention. There is just one problem here. Who are you? Why should anyone care? And how is anyone going to know? So you put together a trailer, link it to your google ads account and set it to promotion (for about $200)
So the youtube version of google ads is now running your material at around $20/day and telling everyone that there is going to be a 5 hour audiobook releasing on November 1st. The trailer starts to pick up somewhere in the range of 1200 to 1400 views a day, however it is impossible to know if the audiobook audience is being properly targeted or if they are even really interested.
You have 13 days left, what do you do?
