Personally, I haven't quite seen it.
A lot of the stuff that I'm promoting that has a high commercial interest show up on Google, but there are paid ads because advertisers are targeting those commercial terms.
It would be very interesting if what you described happens across the board.
I'm reserving judgment.
I'm sure it does happen, but it would open Google up to serious legal liability if this is a built-in feature of their algorithm because this is a conflict of interest no matter how you look at it.
