Options for monetizing Facebook page?

Hi, I've never been into Facebook, but one of my mainstream websites has turned in a pretty active Facebook group currently with over 200 members and the pace at which it grows is picking up daily. Quite frankly the Facebook Group now completely overshadows the website itself.

My Facebook skills are probably worse than a Grandmother and it's because I have never used it enough to become acquainted, but now I have a reason to pay more attention and wouldn't want to let an opportunity pass me by.

I have already tried to search "how to monetize facebook page" but I didn't find anything helpful in the results and a lot of them had to do with Facebook profiles as opposed to a "group" or whatever I would call this (see, this is how much I know Fb)

Anyway, the obvious answer is to promote products and other things through posts but are there other ways similar to how we monetize our websites? Such as PPC ads or whatever?

You say 200 as if its nothing. Well, maybe it is, since after all "I know nothing" when it comes to Facebook. Prior to this to this website, my entire experience as a webmaster was limited to XXX.

Anyway, no it's not 200k; it is a "real" 200. By that I mean each one of them joined naturally at their own will. No paid followers or likes; just an active community, so I see that as an opportunity.
 
Is it a group or a page? There's a difference.

Regardless, if they're not highly targeted, 200 is nothing. You'd be better off growing your user base before you try to monetize it.
 
I'm 100% with Grizzy. 200 members is not a lot even if they are targeted real people. Don't start monetizing until you have a very good fan base of at least 5 times that. It's always people and traffic first and monetize later.

It's the same with websites, you shouldn't start monetizing your site until you have at least 1,000 visitors a month. Just my opinion.
 
Ah. Well that is good to know. Fortunately it was 0 a couple weeks ago, so hopefully it will be worth re-visiting after some time

But anyway, just for kicks, suppose I DID have 200k, how would you monetize it then?

Oh and my bad it was not a "group". Its listed under the "Pages" category so I guess its a page. The admin panel looks somewhat similar to a bulletin board / discussion board and when you login there is a chart that shows the Reach, shows how many people read each post, etc
 
If your user base won't be offended, start with some. Review selected products as they relate to your audience. If they're loyal, they will buy or ignore. Others will leave the group. You aren't going to get rich with this, but you'll learn FB.
