Hi guys. I was wondering if anyone has some tips for me, regarding the optimum settings for proxies when it comes to scraping from Google Images.

I'm using 20 private proxies for this, with the free Scrapebox addon Google Image Grabber. Everything worked out great for a few days. I just tried it now and it doesn't work anymore. It keeps cycling between the proxies and it times out eventually, with Error 404.

From what I can tell the proxies aren't working with Google Images anymore, even though the proxy test says that they're OK for use on Google.

Not sure which settings I should modify to make sure the proxies aren't banned too quickly. Right now the maximum connections for Google Harvester is set to 2. I assume that means that it uses 2 proxies at a time.

In the Proxy Manager, Configuration button, it was set to 10 connections. I assumed that's just for testing proxies, not for scraping as well. Am I wrong?

I'm not really concerned with speed here, I'm just interested in some safer settings, which would keep my proxies from getting banned by Google. I'm using regular keywords and operators like imagesize, not stuff like inurl or intitle, which I assume would get them banned faster.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Hi Mancavew,
I've no answer to this but am encountering similar issues- anyone know the answer to this? Did you solve it, MancaveW? I have G Harvester set to 1 as I hear G has tightened up - you say you are using 2.
