NO, it's not fine. You should config your PC to lower the total number of process.

I can help. Just post the list of things you do on your computer.. example: printing, internet, internet sharing, etc etc. Give full list. Also tell me how much RAM you are using. Also post the list of softwares you want to use.

You may also want to turn off search indexing. I have seen several computers where they were borderline starved for resources and whenever the indexer kicked in their machine just ground to a halt.

If all else fails the fastest/cheapest way to fix a speed problem (assuming you have ruled out an actual problem and the machine is just old/slow) is to add a SSHD as your boot drive. Offload all applications (except frequently used ones) and data to your hard disk.

The computer I am on right took 2 minutes to boot with an old-school drive, and about 15 seconds with a SSHD.

Simple Get and SSD and Extra RAM. Proven to solve 99.99% of my computer is slow problems.

1. cut down the services/process which you are not using
2. use tuneup utilities
3. remove unwanted startup progs.
