Optimize my computer, can't work in this way

Hello,

my computer became very slow, I also formatted the hard-disk to check if there would be an improvment but still the same even if there is plenty of space on the hard-disk.
Do you know any good software (maybe a boot cd) that is able to make a deep scan of the hard drive and speed it up or optimize the system in a real way?
I'm ready to format a again.

is it xp or 7 - i use to do alot of pc cleaning on my
old site for my members over a 6 yr period

You have a hardware problem, you did not need to reformat.

Yes, that's what I think too, but I don't want to admit it.
I have Windows7 anyway.

if you need help just ask - i would
defrag with a none windows defragger
clean all temp/cookie folders
edit msconfig boot up programmes
also run a malwarebytes scan
and run cc cleaner
edit the services.msc boot up windows programmes

Thanks but I also formatted, so all have been deleted and system is slow just using Windows7 clean...

they both cause cpu load

cntrl+alt+del how many processors do you
have running + what is your cpu load

Make sure you kill unwanted tasks and processes, that can cause it to run kind of slow.

But I just formatted, there should be just the needed tasks I think...
Any way to do a check of my motherboard?

Do you have enough RAM? Try updating your video card as well. I don't think there's a software out yet that can check your motherboard, but you can always do it manually.

how much RAM do you have?

if you did what proxygo suggested above and you have enough memory then more than likely that you'll need a new HDD

steady 26% CPU usage with the needed tasks only seems to be pretty high, but it shouldn't cause the problem in itself

maybe check all device driver are installed and the proper ones instead of the generic drivers. A full install from scratch should of fixed your computer if there was no hardware issues.

It could be 9 million thngs.
A stick of ram may have gone bad, unplug them one at a time and see if it speeds.

Your virtual memory might be too small, make it fixed at twice the size of ram.

You may have a failing piece of hardware, replace it.

It may be (insert issue here) blah blah blah.

Why don't you investigate and see what it is?

Look in event viewer, under the systems tab, and see what is causing the problem. If it is a hardware problem, it should be listed there. I bet it is disk errors, the slowness being caused by multiple rewrites, or a failing DVD drive not answering a parse.

If the system tab is clean, look under applications and see what application is having a problem.

If you find any errors, PM them to me and I will try to help.

Back up everything and install a Linux OS, (Ubuntu is easy to use) then install 7 in a Virtualbox vm.

That solved the majority of my pc issues. I haven't looked back since.

sounds like a failing hard disk to me. Ive just been through something similar. drive controller playing up rather than bad sectors in the end
