Hi all
Working with a cleaning company.
We've created location pages for cleaning + location and are ranking well.
domain.com/cleaning-company-city1
domain.com/cleaning-company-city2
etc
We're now looking to build additional sub service location pages to increase rankings for specific services.
domain.com/carpet-cleaning-city1/
domain.com/carpet-cleaning-city2/
domain.com/window-cleaning-city1/
domain.com/window-cleaning-city2/
etc
Wondering what the best URL structure is.
I've created a visual sitemap, and it's spitting out this url
domain.com/cleaning-services/carpet-cleaning/carpet-cleaning-city1
So following this structure, the website has the following pages
Home = domain.com
All cleaning services as a category page = domain.com/cleaning-services/
Carpet-cleaning is a general page about the services, and links to all carpet cleaning + location pages = domain.com/cleaning-services/carpet-cleaning/ (current url structure is just domain.com/carpet-cleaning/
Carpet Cleaning + city 1 page is a location page for carpet cleaning.
The URL structure that the sitemap generator has spat out looks a bit convoluted to me.
I like that structure of user flow, but I think the url structure should be
domain.com/cleaning-services/ = this page links to all cleaning services
domain.com/carpet-cleaning/ = general page about carpet cleaning service, and this links to all carpet cleaning + location pages
domain.com/carpet-cleaning-city1/ = location page for city 1 for carpet cleaning
I then have
domain.com/locations/ = category page of all locations
domain.com/cleaning-company-city1/ = individual location page for general cleaning company (top level seed keyword). This page will then link to all sub-service + city 1 pages. For example domain.com/carpet-cleaning-city1/ domain.com/window-cleaning-city1 etc
What do you think the best/optimal url structure will be?
Thanks
